Curse the Cotton
Life on the plantation for a Negro woman was already worse than any livelihood that existed, but when the wealthiest "massah" in the area destroys the only grasp on true, unquenchable love that Shelone has left to live for, her thirst for revenge is unleashed, starting in the vast cotton fields and ending in bloodshed all across the Marksman plantation!

What a story. It takes place of course during the era of slavery in our country. This is a story of courage, determination, evil, and sadness. These were just a few of the emotions that people of that era were forced to endure. The characters are amazing. You will like them, cheer for them, and cry for them. The writing is fantastic. It draws you right into the action. You feel transported to the late 1800's. There were many pages where I found myself holding my breath. Other pages were so beautifully written that I re-read many of them simply to enjoy the text. This is the first book I've read by this author, but it won't be the last. This lady has a real gift for being able to make history truly come alive.Product details
